THE UPPER CLASS BASTARDS - "No-Bless Oblige" - 2009 - Street Symphonies

The Upper Class Bastards are obviously a band influenced by the 80's, but there is no doubt they have moved the sound into modern times and hopefully into the future. They might be the perfect band to introduce your stupid girlfriend who listens to Top 40 to. Not because Charlotte S. has a Pop Star look and style, but because their sound is not overly-aggressive. Don't get me wrong, the band is all rock and at times quite heavy, but the mix is done so well that the guitars and vocals aren't jumping out at you but rather blending well together to create a uniform sound. I would assume this band is MUCH heavier live, there is a little twisted darkside to the music as well, it is NOT bubblegum pop even though there's some Pop sensibilities. They sound quite unique and refreshing too, even though they're not reinventing the wheel. I think they are very accomplished musicians with a very bright future.
