You might think these guys are Scandanavian at first, the overpowering
keysk, the over-the-top bombastic operatic (is that a word)
sound reminds one more of the Swedish bands, but these Germans
do it as well as anyone out there. The blur the lines between
Power, Prog and even AOR with their third release. They can
do the epic 8 minutes songs or the more strait up stuff like
"Tokyo". They seem to understand you need some songs
to draw in a more mainstream Metal fan, then introduce them
to the more Progressive material.
Songs
like "Pale Moon Rider", "Sign In The Sky"
and "The Princess" are just damn good Metal songs.
At times they remind one of countrymen "Edguy", another
band that has understood the need to write some more "simple"
songs to play live and attract the female audience. I don't
want to give the illusion these songs are "simple"
by any stretch. The musicianship is suberb here and the production
doesn't get much better. I HATE this terrible cliche', but "Evercircle"
does have something for every Metal head, from the Classic fans
to the Power/Prog crowd, you're going to appreciate this release.
