NOIZE MACHINE - "The Jumping Clown" - 2009 - Valery Records

Italy's Noize Machine has so many different things going on it's hard to really compare them to any band in particular. For awhile I was thinking "Living Colour" meets "Van Halen", but there's more to it than that. They actually have some very strong progressive tendencies as well.

Guitar virtuoso Dario Mollo's blistering solos and downright amazing work is very enjoyable to listen to. Andrea "Mitzi" Dal Santo has to be one of the more charismatic and hilarious front men I've heard in a long time. First of all, he has amazing range, he can do the high range vocals very well. But what really caught my attention is his maniacal yelling and crazy talking, he really adds to the songs with his unique delivery.

I have to mention the drums and bass too, they are more than just the rhythm section here. Roberto Gualdi and Guido Block are extremely talented players. They are just as important to music as the vocals and guitars. This band is simply one of the more tight outfits I've heard lately. They make the songs interesting and more importantly FUN! They aren't trying to talk over our heads or preach, they're entertaining us and as far as I'm concerned, most mainstream bands seem to forget all about that important factor.
