EKTOMORPH - "What Doesn't Kill Me..." - 2009 - AFM RECORDS

Ektomorph provides us with an accessible Hardcore style of Metal. What I mean is that they have the elements of Hardcore and a heavier style but they have such tight hooks and great choruses that even people who aren't a fan of the harsher vocal style can get into this stuff. Songs like "I Got It All" and "What Doesn't Kill Me" are downright infectious. It's a bit in the vein of Prong classics like "Who's Fist Is This Anyway". Maybe this will help, I would consider them the AC/DC of Hardcore Metal. The songs are just ass-kicking rock when you break it down. They also remind me a bit of Swiss Metalhead "Gurd", who have a similar no-nonsense approach to the Metal. They add a strait-up rock beat to some songs, grinding guitars and some groovy grooves. This band should have a universal appeal like Entombed, Motorhead and Cathedral. They don't fit one genre and their songs are so fucking memorable it hurts!
