1. Tell us a little about yourself, you are originally from
Poland but now live in the Netherlands? Tell us how you ended
up there?
I'm
half Polish/half Lebanese. My Mom's Polish & remarried
a Dutch man when I was 5, so we moved to the NL.
2.
You actually write music, and play guitar and some keyboards.
You've done some recording, what sort of music do you write?
How many albums or songs have you recorded?
Yeah, I'm a singer and I write my own songs mostly. I had
no clue I could write a song until a teacher of classic guitar
( I was 9 then) gave as un assignment to write a song. I came
back the next week with a cool pop song and the guy didn't
believe I wrote it myself. When he realized I was telling
the truth he arranged a performance at a huge football stadium
in Holland where I played the song on the radio..:) That's
pretty much how it started. After that I just kept writing
songs and performing at festivals or Rock podia. I spread
some demo's when I was a teen. Some people in the underground
just kept copying them for each other until you could hardly
hear anything on them ;) One time I met a couple at the bar,
right after a show, who told me they hooked up because they
both had my demo :).....I released 2 albums in 2000 and 2002,
"Spirit in a Cage" and "She Death Queen".
I never counted how many songs I've recorded for different
projects, but loosely guessing there must be over a 150.
3.
You're a big fan of The Doors, what is it about them that
you love?
After
listening to the Doors for years it's strange to think of
one or two things I like about them. The Doors were a 'transcendental'
band in many ways. They combined aspects from music, theatre,
film and poetry, philosophy and 'religious' ideas. I guess
it fitted the time of the freedom loving sixties, but until
this day people are still into them. I guess when you're young,
you look for a deeper meaning in life and a band like the
Doors inspires you to look for that deeper meaning in yourself,
by opening 'the Doors of Perception‘. Jim Morrison wore
a Lizard skin jacket, a Turquoise belt and "tested the
boundaries of reality" in the name of Artistic Freedom;
in my opinion, one of the coolest people who ever lived.
4.
Tell us about some of the other artist you are into, old AND
new...
I
love Led Zeppelin...I like some of the heavier bands from
the 60's and 70'; Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, some of the
stuff by Jethro Tull and Budgie....I also like Janis Joplin
and Jimi Hendrix..Kate Bush is a wonderful artist..During
my early teens I also listened to grunge bands, like Nirvana,
Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots or Pearl
Jam but also to Stoner Rock bands like Kyuss and Monster Magnet..I
also like Danzig and Rob Zombie..
As to Artists in general; I grew up as a musician in a long
line of painters, so I'm also into visual arts..I love certain
painters like Jean Delville, Gustave Moreau, Waterhouse or
Pre-Raphaelite painters..I also like Louis Royo..
I’m also into writers or poets who touch upon Esoteric
themes like Arthur Rimbaud, Baudelaire, Oscar Wilde, Bram
Stoker, Dion Fortune and Jim Morrison..;) I really like Aleister
Crowley a lot.
5.
What other things have you been doing, did I see you've been
a dancer?
Other things...I studied Film at a University. I've been a
dancer ( on stage ) for dj's at large (fetish) parties in
some of the coolest clubs. At some of them you can't take
pictures..:) I also like the Occult..
6.
As a female, and even more as an attractive female, do you
have trouble getting respect as a musician or are we past
those days?
I'll
answer that question with my lyric to 'Broken Mirrors'..it's
about the masks we have and our inner selves. Perhaps you
can solve my riddle
My Soul is for Keepers.
My mask is for losers.
Who knows me in my life?
Who looks beyond disguise?
If knowledge is mistaken, for wisdom, so sacred...
You'll see me from behind the broken mirrors of your mind.
Behind broken mirrors of your mind,
that reflect the masks she left behind.
So do you see me as I am,
So you look beyond yourself my Friend?
Her name is official.
Her face is artificial.
I know her, she's my doll,
but I fear what's in her world.
Your name is official.
Your face is artificial.
My spell is in your mind.
1, 2, 3 I'm locked inside..
behind broken mirrors in your mind,
that reflect the masks she left behind
